The fiber form of bamboo retains many of the properties it has in its plant form. One of the most important of these properties is moisture absorption, which reaches levels that absorb three times its weight in water. This is due to the presence of micro-gaps and micro-pores in the fiber, which in turn give the fabric excellent core-absorbing capacity, allowing moisture to be pulled away from the skin directly and evaporate quickly, giving a cool sensation.... Due to the large number of microcracks and grooves on the fiber surface, the fabrics have high breathability and temperature regulation properties, even higher than those made of cotton and hemp. In addition, compared with cotton fabrics, they are considered to exhibit lower shrinkage, higher dye adsorption, better color and clarity, greater wrinkle resistance and better luster , no mercerization. Compared to linen and jute, the fabrics exhibit tremendous water and moisture absorption under both dry and wet conditions, as well as better pilling and abrasion resistance. However, the washing fastness was found to be unsatisfactory even under normal washing conditions, leaving aside the harsh conditions. The fibers do not have any sharp prickles that might cause any skin irritation. Even people who develop skin allergies to other natural fibers such as wool and hemp do not show any such reaction when wearing bamboo next to their skin.
